In a bid to tackle environmental and public health issues, the Lahore High Court has mandated a ban on vehicles emitting excessive smoke. This ruling was made during a hearing on petitions aimed at eradicating smog, with Justice Shahid Karim presiding over the session.
Justice Karim directed immediate actions against vehicles contributing to air pollution, instructing the traffic police to enforce the ban rigorously. “Traffic police should take action against smoke-emitting vehicles and inform the department concerned,” the court ruled, emphasizing the need for strict compliance and prompt reporting of violations.
