The investigation into the alleged drug trafficking network connected to Pinky has expanded further as the Crime Control Department (CCD) continues its operations across multiple cities. As part of the latest development, authorities have summoned Pinky’s former DSP husband for questioning, signaling a major expansion in the ongoing inquiry.
Officials said the case is being treated as part of a wider crackdown against suspected narcotics smuggling and organized drug networks operating in different parts of the country. The investigation gained significant attention after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sought an immediate and comprehensive report from senior police officials regarding the alleged network linked to Anmol alias “Pinky,” who was recently arrested in Karachi on serious drug-related charges.
Following the directives, the CCD launched a full-scale investigation to trace individuals allegedly associated with the network. Former police inspector Rana Ikram, who is believed to be the husband of the main suspect, has now been called in for questioning. Authorities are also considering moving him to Lahore for additional interrogation in connection with a case already registered at Kot Lakhpat Police Station.
The probe has also been widened to include Pinky’s brother, Riaz Baloch, who was earlier arrested from Karachi’s Garden area. According to investigators, he had already been named in a 2022 narcotics smuggling case filed in Lahore. During initial questioning, officials claim he disclosed information suggesting that Pinky was allegedly connected to the broader drug operation currently under investigation.
Police are also re-examining an earlier drug-related incident in Lahore’s Shadab Colony. In that case, suspects travelling in a luxury vehicle allegedly attempted to sell narcotics. One suspect was arrested at the scene, while another managed to escape during a high-speed getaway.
Authorities confirmed that the case has been registered under Section 9C of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act. Despite the serious allegations and growing investigation, police officials stated that Pinky currently has no officially documented criminal record in Punjab, while investigations continue in several cities.
