WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called “Incognito Chat with Meta AI,” allowing users to have highly private conversations with artificial intelligence directly within the platform. According to the company, the feature is designed to offer users a secure and confidential space to interact with Meta AI without worrying about their chats being viewed or stored.
In an official statement shared through its blog, WhatsApp explained that the feature is powered by its “Private Processing” technology. The company said this system ensures that conversations remain completely hidden from everyone, including Meta itself. Unlike some other AI chat platforms that may still have access to user prompts and responses, WhatsApp claims that Incognito Chat provides full privacy during AI interactions.
The company stated that when users begin an Incognito Chat with Meta AI, a temporary and private conversation is created that can only be accessed by the user. Messages are reportedly processed within a secure environment that even the company cannot view or monitor. WhatsApp added that these chats are not stored, and messages automatically disappear by default, giving users a more secure and personal experience while discussing ideas or asking questions.
According to WhatsApp, the feature is intended to help people interact with AI more comfortably and freely without concerns about privacy or data tracking. The company believes this approach could play a major role in the future of AI-powered communication on the platform.
WhatsApp also revealed plans to launch another feature called “Side Chat” in the coming months. This tool will also use Private Processing technology and will allow users to receive AI assistance within ongoing chats without interrupting the main conversation. The feature is expected to understand the context of discussions while still maintaining user privacy.
Incognito Chat with Meta AI is currently being rolled out gradually on WhatsApp and the Meta AI app and is expected to become available to more users over the next few months.
