The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has released a new duty roster following the summer break. The updated schedule was approved by Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar.
According to the new roster, nine judges will handle cases in single benches. Additionally, five division benches will operate in the coming week. This arrangement aims to ensure smooth judicial proceedings after the break.
Notably, Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan are not included in the single bench roster. Their pending single bench cases have been reassigned to other judges. However, both judges will serve together on a division bench focused on tax-related matters.
A significant update in the roster is the transfer of the high-profile Dr. Aafia Siddiqui case. Previously overseen by Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, the case has now been shifted to Justice Inam Amin Minhas. This change follows recent developments in the case.
Earlier, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan had issued contempt notices to the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet. He ordered them to submit their replies by September 1, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.
