Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a sit-in at D Chowk on July 26. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, stated during his address to the Islamabad Bar Association that the protest is aimed at opposing the excessive taxes imposed on the people, not for personal gain. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman criticized the current government structure, suggesting that Pakistan should have a government of form 45 instead of 47. He emphasized the right of people to vote freely and lamented that despite 70 years since Pakistan’s creation, the country seems to be moving backwards.

He strongly condemned the recent Bannu firing incident and called for an independent investigation. Hafiz Naeem also highlighted the issues of inflation and tax burdens, particularly on electricity bills, flour, lentils, and sugar, asserting that Independent Power Producers (IPPs) have exploited the Pakistani people. The protest is intended to address these grievances and advocate for the rights of the people of Pakistan.
