Islamabad Park Road Infrastructure Project Progressing on Schedule

The federal government has confirmed that a major infrastructure project in Islamabad is moving forward as planned. The Park Road development project is valued at Rs. 10 billion and aims to improve traffic flow in key areas of the capital.

Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhry informed the Senate that the project is on schedule. He said no delays have been reported since construction began in March.

The project is being carried out in Islamabad to improve connectivity between important road networks. Authorities say it will help reduce traffic congestion and improve travel efficiency.

The first phase of the project includes the construction of an underpass. This phase is expected to be completed in July. Officials have confirmed that work is progressing steadily in Islamabad.

The remaining components of the project are scheduled for completion in August. These include service roads, road widening, and additional infrastructure improvements.

The Park Road project also involves overhead structures and related development work. The aim is to modernize road connectivity in Islamabad and surrounding areas.

According to officials, the project is being developed in partnership with the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO). Both organizations are also supporting financing and execution.

The government says the project will improve links between Park Road, Margalla Avenue, and nearby residential sectors. This is expected to benefit residents across different parts of Islamabad.

During the construction phase, commuters are facing temporary traffic disruptions. However, authorities say these issues are short-term.

Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel time and fuel consumption. It will also help ease long-standing traffic problems in Islamabad.

Officials have stated that environmental assessments were completed before work began. Measures are being taken to protect green areas during construction activities.

The government has described the Park Road scheme as a major infrastructure development for Islamabad. It is part of broader efforts to upgrade urban transport systems.
