The Government of Sindh has approved scholarships for 2,662 university students under the Sindh Education Endowment Fund (SEEF), aiming to expand access to higher education for deserving students across the province.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the SEEF Board of Trustees chaired by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah. In the same session, the board also approved the renewal of scholarships for 5,853 students already enrolled in various higher education programs.
Officials said SEEF is currently supporting students from Sindh studying in 92 public and private universities across Pakistan. As of June 2026, the fund’s total capital has reached Rs. 12.617 billion, with the provincial government contributing an additional Rs. 2 billion annually to expand educational opportunities.
Since its launch in 2002, SEEF has helped 42,169 students complete their university education, making it one of the largest provincial scholarship initiatives in the country. The program continues to focus on supporting students facing financial hardship.
Minister Shah emphasized that no talented student should be deprived of higher education due to financial limitations. He also directed officials to introduce new academic disciplines aligned with future job market demands and to modernize the scholarship system.
The board further instructed the SEEF Executive Committee to expand the program, review institutional performance, include more universities, and strengthen transparency through digitization and third-party audits.
