The Airport Health Department has announced that a NADRA-issued vaccination certificate will be mandatory for passengers travelling abroad from September 14. International travellers will be required to present a vaccination card issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) before boarding their flights.
According to officials, passengers without the required vaccination certificate will not be allowed to board international flights. The new requirement will apply to all international travellers, including passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
Umrah pilgrims will also have to obtain their vaccination certificates before departure. Airlines have been directed to properly check the vaccination cards of passengers travelling on international flights and ensure that the required documents are available before boarding.
The Airport Health Department has also issued arrangements to facilitate passengers who need vaccination services. The federal government’s civil dispensary has been designated as the sole vaccination centre for this purpose.
Passengers who plan to get vaccinated at the airport have been advised to arrive at least six hours before their scheduled flight. This additional time will allow them to complete the vaccination and documentation process without missing their flights.
Vaccination services will be available in the international departure area. Authorities have also arranged for the online registration process to be completed at the same location, making it easier for passengers to complete the required formalities before departure.
The authorities said the arrangements are aimed at making the vaccination process more convenient and reducing difficulties for passengers. However, travellers have been advised to complete the required process in advance wherever possible to avoid delays at the airport.
The new requirement comes into effect on September 14 and will cover passengers travelling internationally from the airport. Airlines will be responsible for checking vaccination cards as part of the pre-boarding process.
The requirement will be particularly important for Umrah pilgrims, who make regular international journeys to Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims planning to travel after September 14 will need to ensure that their vaccination documentation meets the new requirements before reaching the airport.
Passengers who arrive without the required NADRA-issued vaccination certificate could face problems during the boarding process. Travellers are therefore advised to confirm their vaccination status and complete the necessary registration before their departure date.
Those intending to receive vaccination services at the airport should arrive well ahead of their flight, with authorities recommending a minimum of six hours before departure. This is intended to provide enough time for vaccination, online registration and verification.
The Airport Health Department has directed all relevant airlines and staff to follow the new instructions strictly. The measure will remain applicable to international passengers, including those travelling for Umrah, from September 14.
