Petrol and Diesel prices have increased again as the government continues daily fuel price revisions. The latest rates were issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The price of petrol has risen by Rs. 5.02 per litre. It now stands at Rs. 375.82 per litre.
Diesel has also become more expensive. Its price increased by Rs. 5.28 per litre to Rs. 403.32 per litre.
The latest increase marks the fifth consecutive day of higher petrol prices. Diesel prices have also continued to rise during the ongoing revisions.
On Thursday, petrol was increased by Rs. 3.05 per litre. Its price reached Rs. 370.80 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of Diesel increased by Rs. 5.37 per litre on Thursday. The rate reached Rs. 398.04 per litre.
The latest figures show a sharp increase in fuel prices since daily revisions began. Petrol has increased by Rs. 64.52 per litre during this period.
Diesel has recorded an even larger increase. Its price has risen by Rs. 73.81 per litre since daily pricing started.
Fuel prices have changed frequently since the new revision system began. Rates have been updated on several days during the period.
On September 7, petrol was priced at Rs. 358.77 per litre. Diesel was available at Rs. 381.77 per litre on the same day.
The rates increased further over the following days. Petrol reached Rs. 364.35 on September 8.
On September 9, petrol increased to Rs. 367.75 per litre. Diesel also rose to Rs. 392.67 per litre.
The latest revision has pushed Diesel above the Rs. 400 mark. Petrol has also moved closer to Rs. 380 per litre.
The higher fuel prices could affect transportation and other operating costs. Fuel rates also influence the prices of several goods and services.
The government is continuing to monitor fuel prices through regular revisions. OGRA provides the latest updates based on the applicable pricing mechanism.
Consumers will now have to pay Rs. 375.82 per litre for petrol. Diesel will cost Rs. 403.32 per litre under the latest rates.
