Pakistan has announced a major facilitation for Hajj pilgrims traveling in 2026. Authorities confirmed that all pilgrims will receive a Free Saudi SIM to improve communication during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the SIM cards will include both call minutes and mobile internet data. The initiative aims to provide ease and convenience for pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
Officials said that pilgrims choosing the standard 40-day package will receive 600 local and international call minutes. They will also get 40 GB of internet data. Those opting for the short package will be given 300 minutes and 25 GB of data. The Free Saudi SIM will cover essential communication needs without any extra cost.
Authorities clarified that the SIM cards are meant only for use during Hajj. Pilgrims have been advised not to buy additional SIM cards while in Saudi Arabia. This step is intended to ensure smooth communication and avoid unnecessary expenses.
Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf confirmed that the government has taken steps to support pilgrims despite rising global costs. He stated that there will be no increase in Hajj package prices this year. The decision comes despite higher international oil prices.
The minister also highlighted agreements with airlines. These agreements ensure that pilgrims will travel according to fixed package rates. No additional charges will be imposed during the journey.
The introduction of the Free Saudi SIM is part of broader efforts to improve services for pilgrims. Officials believe that better connectivity will help pilgrims stay in touch with family members and access important information.
The Hajj flight operation is set to begin soon. The first flight from Pakistan will depart on April 18. Authorities expect around 179,210 pilgrims to travel from Pakistan this year.
