China Calls US Blockade of Iranian Ports ‘Dangerous and Irresponsible’

China has strongly criticized the United States over its Blockade of Iranian ports, calling the move “dangerous and irresponsible.” The statement came after rising tensions in the Middle East following recent military actions and failed diplomatic efforts.

According to reports, the Blockade was ordered by Donald Trump after peace talks between the United States and Iran failed. The measure targets ships entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas in the Gulf.

The Blockade officially came into effect on Monday at 1400 GMT. This happened despite a recent agreement between the US and Iran for a temporary ceasefire. Analysts say the decision has increased uncertainty in the region.

China expressed concern over the impact of the move. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun warned that the action could worsen tensions. He said the Blockade could damage the already fragile ceasefire and threaten safe passage in key shipping routes.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for global oil supply. Around one-fifth of the world’s oil passes through this area. Any disruption caused by the Blockade could affect international markets and energy security.

Iran has already taken countermeasures by restricting access to the Strait. It has allowed only selected vessels from friendly countries to pass through. This has added further pressure on global shipping routes.

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations described the US action as a serious violation of sovereignty. Officials in Tehran believe the Blockade is aimed at increasing economic pressure on the country.

Experts say the move may also target China. Beijing is one of the largest buyers of Iranian oil. The Blockade could influence trade relations and push China to play a larger diplomatic role.

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for respect for national sovereignty. He emphasized the need for dialogue and peaceful solutions to conflicts in the region.

The situation remains tense as global powers react to the developments. Analysts warn that continued escalation could impact trade, energy supplies, and regional stability.

As the crisis unfolds, the international community is closely monitoring the effects of the Blockade. Efforts for diplomatic engagement are expected to continue in the coming days.
