Karachi Police Introduce Faceless E-Challan System For Traffic Violations

Karachi Police, in collaboration with Lok Suhayta, has launched a citywide campaign to raise awareness about road safety. The initiative also introduces the upcoming faceless e-challan system, aimed at modernizing traffic enforcement.

A spokesperson for Karachi Police explained that the campaign focuses on educating citizens about traffic rules. It also familiarizes the public with the automated ticketing system, which eliminates human intervention and ensures transparency.

Starting October 1, 2025, the faceless e-challan system will officially come into effect. Violations will be detected through high-tech surveillance cameras installed across the city. Digital challans, supported by photographic or video evidence, will be sent directly to violators’ residences.

As part of the awareness drive, Karachi Police and volunteers are distributing pamphlets at major intersections and traffic signals. Female constables and students from educational institutions are assisting in educating the public about traffic regulations and road safety.

“This system ensures fairness and accountability. On your journey, Karachi Police is your companion,” the spokesperson said. Authorities believe the new system will promote a safer and more disciplined traffic environment.

The faceless e-challan initiative is expected to reduce corruption and arbitrary enforcement. By relying on evidence-based technology, Karachi Police aim to create a more organized and law-abiding city.

Officials emphasized that the campaign is a significant step toward modernizing traffic management in Karachi. Citizens are encouraged to follow traffic rules and prepare for the transition to automated enforcement.

With this campaign, Karachi Police are setting an example for other cities in Pakistan, demonstrating how technology can improve road safety and accountability.
