Karachi continued to experience hot and humid weather as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that the prevailing conditions are likely to persist over the next 24 hours.
According to the latest weather forecast, the city’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 36°C and 38°C. However, the high humidity levels are likely to make the weather feel considerably hotter than the actual temperature, increasing discomfort for residents.
The PMD reported that the temperature was 29°C earlier in the day, while humidity reached 74 percent. Light westerly winds were recorded at a speed of around 3 kilometers per hour, offering little relief from the oppressive conditions.
Weather officials also indicated that rain-bearing clouds may develop over Karachi’s suburban areas during the forecast period. Although no widespread rainfall has been predicted, isolated cloud formation could bring brief changes in weather conditions in some localities.
Meanwhile, weather analysts cautioned that temperatures could climb to 41°C or even higher in certain parts of the city. They explained that the combination of weak winds, high humidity, and prolonged sunshine could intensify the heat, making outdoor conditions more challenging.
The ongoing weather has prompted residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses. Health experts advise people to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, and wear light-colored clothing to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion.
The PMD continues to monitor the weather situation and has urged citizens to remain updated through official forecasts. Authorities have also advised vulnerable groups, including children, senior citizens, and people with medical conditions, to minimize direct exposure to the sun.
With humid conditions expected to continue and only a slight chance of cloud development, Karachi is likely to remain under the influence of an intense heat spell over the coming day. Residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions until weather conditions improve.
