The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has voiced deep concern over the deteriorating security climate in South Asia, with particular focus on India’s unilateral actions and the status of the Indus Waters Treaty.
In a high-level UN briefing in New York, a Pakistani parliamentary delegation, led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, briefed OIC envoys on the aftermath of the recent Indo-Pak tensions. Zardari condemned India’s attempt to link Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident without investigation, calling it an excuse for unlawful military aggression targeting civilians.

He warned against India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it an act of water weaponisation that poses a serious threat to regional peace. Emphasising Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy and peace, Bilawal urged the restoration of the treaty, ceasefire adherence, and the reopening of dialogue with India.
The OIC representatives lauded Pakistan’s diplomatic approach and reaffirmed their continued support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as outlined in UN resolutions.
