According to the NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), areas expected to be impacted include Malakand Division, Hazara Division, Bannu, Charsadda, Karak, Khyber, Kohat, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mardan, Nowshera, Orakzai, Peshawar, Swabi, and Waziristan.
The intense weather system could bring heavy downpours, strong winds, and hail, heightening the risk of flash floods, landslides, and potential damage to infrastructure, crops, and power lines.
Travelers and residents are strongly advised to:
- Avoid unnecessary travel, especially in hilly and landslide-prone areas such as Hazara and Malakand.
- Check road conditions before setting out, as blocked routes and disruptions are likely.
- Stay clear of low-lying areas vulnerable to flash flooding.
- Be vigilant around vulnerable buildings and weak structures.
- Follow instructions from local disaster management authorities and stay updated through official channels.
Emergency teams across the province are on high alert to respond promptly to any incidents. The NDMA has urged the public to strictly follow safety protocols to mitigate risks and protect lives and property during this period of extreme weather.
