KP Launches Digital Tracking System for Livestock Medicines

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative Department has fully activated a new Tracking System for medicines and vaccines. The digital platform is designed to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the distribution of livestock supplies across the province.

The new Tracking System enables officials to monitor medicines and vaccines from the time they are purchased until they reach livestock owners. Every stage of the process is recorded digitally, making it easier to monitor supplies and reduce the chances of losses or irregularities.

The progress of the initiative was reviewed during a visit by Secretary Livestock Zariful Maani to the provincial medicines and vaccines warehouses. He also inspected the cold chain facilities where temperature-sensitive products are stored before distribution.

Digital Dashboard Provides Real-Time Data

During the visit, officials demonstrated the live digital dashboard that powers the new system.

The dashboard provides real-time information about procurement activities, stock availability, warehouse operations, and cold chain monitoring. It also displays district-wise supply records, utilization reports, and details of medicines and vaccines provided to livestock owners.

Officials said the Tracking System covers the complete supply chain. It records procurement, quality assurance, warehousing, storage conditions, distribution, and final administration to farmers.

This allows every shipment to be traced throughout the entire process.

Live Verification Confirms Accuracy

To evaluate the system’s performance, Secretary Zariful Maani randomly selected records from Bajaur, Mohmand, and Kohat.

Using information displayed on the dashboard, officials contacted livestock owners by phone to verify whether they had received the medicines and vaccines listed in the records.

The beneficiaries confirmed that the supplies had been delivered exactly as shown in the digital system.

Officials said this live verification demonstrated the accuracy and reliability of the new Tracking System.

Improving Transparency and Accountability

The secretary praised the teams working in both settled and merged districts for successfully implementing the digital platform.

He described the initiative as an important governance reform that will strengthen public service delivery.

According to officials, the digital system will improve inventory management and reduce the risk of leakages during procurement and distribution.

The department also expects the platform to make monitoring easier for senior officials by providing instant access to updated information.

Better Services for Farmers

The government believes the new digital framework will help ensure that medicines and vaccines reach the intended beneficiaries on time.

By improving transparency throughout the supply chain, the Tracking System is expected to strengthen confidence in government services and support better livestock health across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
