The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has requested the UAE government to extradite property tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Malik under international anti-money laundering laws and the Vienna Convention.
NAB has rejected claims that Malik Riaz was not accused of corruption in the UK’s Royal Court of Justice decision concerning the Al Qadir Trust case. According to UK law, both Riaz and his son are allegedly involved in corruption and financial misconduct related to Bahria Town, as reported by a news outlet.

The UK Home Office revoked their visas after reviewing various documents, including the National Crime Agency’s 2019 settlement with Riaz, Supreme Court judgments regarding Bahria Town, a JIT report on illicit transactions, and a NAB reference filed in April 2019.
Earlier this month, NAB issued a statement confirming its decision to seek Riaz’s extradition, cautioning investors about his UAE-based enterprise, Bahria Town Dubai.
Malik Riaz, who launched a $20 billion real estate project in Dubai in 2018, is believed to be residing there, allegedly to avoid legal action in Pakistan.
