On behalf of Discos, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested a reduction of Rs. 2.20 for FCA for the final month of calendar year 2022. On January 31, the power regulator convened a public hearing. Consumers had previously been charged an increase of Rs0.19 per unit on their FCA accounts for November 2022.
Nepra stated that users will pay Rs2.51 less per unit than they did in November and that this will only be true for bills issued in February. Except for lifeline, residential customers consuming up to 300 units, agricultural customers, and users of electric vehicle charging stations, the FCA will be applicable to all disco consumers.
