The government once again failed to present the 26th constitutional amendment for approval in today’s Senate session.
During the session, chaired by Yousuf Raza Gilani, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla proposed deferring the question hour, which was approved. Prayers were offered for the Karsaz martyrs.

At one point, Gilani suggested a one-hour break due to ongoing meetings, which Senator Irfan Siddiqui supported, though the session continued without delay.
Irfan Siddiqui emphasized that the amendment doesn’t violate fundamental rights and should be passed by consensus.
PML-N’s Talal Chaudhry criticized the Supreme Court’s second clarification, calling it controversial and biased.
