LAHORE – Popular TikTok personality Nadeem Mubarak, widely known as Nani Wala, has been arrested in Lahore after a case was registered against him for alleged reckless driving, obstructing police duties, and threatening traffic officials.
According to Lahore Police, Nani Wala was taken into custody and is currently under investigation. Authorities said he is expected to appear before a court following the completion of initial legal proceedings.
The case was registered at Defence-C Police Station under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. Police stated that the incident began when traffic officers signaled an Audi GT E-tron vehicle with an “applied for” registration status to stop for checking. However, the driver allegedly ignored the instructions and continued driving at high speed.
Officials claimed that the vehicle was later spotted near Raya Club, where it was reportedly being driven in violation of traffic regulations, including traveling on the wrong side of the road. Traffic police attempted to stop the vehicle using an official patrol car and again instructed the driver to pull over.
According to the FIR, instead of complying, the driver allegedly continued driving and at one point attempted to move toward the police vehicle, creating a potentially dangerous situation. Police further alleged that Nani Wala later threatened officers when he was asked to accompany them to the police station.
The case includes charges under Section 279 for reckless driving, Section 186 for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of official duties, and Section 189 for threatening a public servant.
This is not the first time Nani Wala has faced legal issues. Previously, he was booked in a case related to the promotion of online gambling applications. In another incident last year, he was detained for allegedly displaying a fake vehicle registration number on one of his cars.
Meanwhile, Lahore Traffic Police have reiterated that a city-wide operation against traffic violations is underway. Authorities said strict action is being taken against individuals using fake number plates, illegal documents, and unauthorized “applied for” registrations, regardless of their social status or online popularity.
