The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more monsoon rains across various regions of the country, including Karachi, starting today and continuing until Monday, August 12.
These showers are expected to occur intermittently. The PMD also anticipates rain-wind and thundershowers in Sindh, covering areas such as Mithi, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, and Karachi, from August 9 to 11.

The weather pattern is attributed to strong winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Additionally, rain-wind and thundershowers, with scattered heavy falls, are expected in various parts of Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Faisalabad, from August 9 to 12. Southern Punjab areas like Bahawalpur and Multan will also experience these weather conditions on the evenings of August 10 and 11.
Recently, heavy rains have caused significant flooding in low-lying areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, continuing for the second consecutive day on Thursday. In the last three days, 24 people have died due to rainfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). Earlier this year, Pakistan faced a series of heatwaves, with April recorded as the wettest since 1961.
