FESCO Launches RAAST QR Code Payment for Electricity Bills

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has launched a new RAAST payment facility for electricity bills. The service allows consumers to pay their bills instantly through mobile banking applications without paying any extra charges.

The new digital payment option has been introduced in line with the Government of Pakistan’s vision of promoting a cashless economy. It also follows the directions of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) to encourage secure and efficient digital financial transactions.

According to FESCO spokesman Muhammad Saeed Raza, all consumers can now use the RAAST payment option available in their bank’s mobile banking application. Customers only need to scan the QR code printed on their electricity bill to complete the payment.

The payment process is quick and simple. Once the QR code is scanned, users can complete the transaction directly through their banking app without visiting a bank branch or payment center.

One of the key benefits of the new RAAST service is that consumers will not have to pay any service or convenience fee. This makes it a cost-effective option compared to some traditional payment methods.

FESCO also confirmed that payments made through the digital platform are reflected immediately in its billing system. This allows company officials to verify payments online in real time without unnecessary delays.

The utility believes the new payment mechanism will improve transparency and reduce the time required to process bill payments. It is also expected to provide a better customer experience by making the payment process faster and more convenient.

The company explained that the Ministry of Energy is introducing the RAAST platform across electricity distribution companies in different phases. The system will support Person-to-Government (P2G), Government-to-Person (G2P), and Government-to-Government (G2G) financial transactions.

Besides electricity bills, FESCO has also enabled QR code and RAAST payments for demand notices, detection bills, and several other company-related payments. The goal is to provide consumers with a unified and secure digital payment platform.

Company officials have also been instructed to raise public awareness about the new service. They will encourage consumers to adopt digital payment methods and reduce dependence on cash transactions.

According to FESCO, increasing the use of digital payments will support the government’s broader financial inclusion goals while improving the efficiency of public services.

Consumers are being advised to use their bank’s mobile application to access the new payment option. The company believes the service will save time and provide a safer way to pay electricity bills.

The introduction of the RAAST payment system reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on digital financial services. As more government institutions adopt digital payment platforms, consumers are expected to benefit from faster transactions, greater transparency, and improved convenience.
