[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]During the press briefing for her new film, ‘Teri Meri Kahaniyaan,’ Mehwish Hayat cleared the air on her claims of solely working with Karachi-based filmmakers.
Mehwish was also accused by a journalist of “ignoring” and “quoting higher prices” to Lahore-based filmmakers in order to avoid collaborating with them. In response, filmmaker Nadeem Baig remarked, “She charges a lot to Karachi-based producers too.”
The press conference became heated when a journalist said that Karachi had dethroned Lahore as the film industry’s hub. He further asserted that there is a schism between the two cities, with Karachi-based artists refusing to work in Lahore and Lahore-based filmmakers denying screenplays.

The superstar handled the situation with grace and calm. She first stated that there is “no bias” in the hearts of Karachi-based artists towards Lahore. And I also shared:
In fact, I would love to do a Punjabi film, but I have not received any offers yet. I am an artist and I’m here to do good work in this field, whether from Karachi or elsewhere.
She concluded by saying,
I have always been very experimental, and I like working with new people. If there is a good script that has a character for me, and people are willing to experiment with me, then I’ll do it for sure. It’s the script, not the location.
On the job front, Mehwish Hayat will soon be seen in Pakistan’s first anthology film, Teri Meri Kahaniyaan, alongside some of the industry’s biggest stars and best producers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
