A rare Shera print goat from Rajanpur has become the talk of the town after being sold for an astonishing Rs1.8 million, attracting widespread attention both online and offline. The unique animal, known for its striking coat pattern, went viral on social media before eventually finding a buyer willing to pay the hefty price.
The sale has sparked excitement among livestock enthusiasts and social media users, with many describing the goat as one of the rarest ever bred in the region.
The prized goat belonged to Ali Zahid, a livestock breeder from Rajanpur, who said the animal was a rare example of the Shera print breed, famous for its distinctive markings. According to the owner, no other goat with the same colour pattern currently exists, making it a truly one-of-a-kind animal.
Ali Zahid explained that the goat’s popularity skyrocketed after its photographs circulated across various social media platforms. Within days, he began receiving inquiries and offers from interested buyers across different cities.
After several negotiations, the deal was finalized with Arshad Dareshak, who purchased the rare goat for Rs1.8 million.
The purchase quickly turned into a celebration rather than an ordinary livestock transaction.
According to local residents, a convoy of more than 300 people travelled from Fazilpur to Rajanpur alongside the buyer to collect the prized animal. The arrival of the convoy created a festive atmosphere rarely seen during livestock sales.
The visitors were welcomed with the beating of drums, while flower petals and currency notes were showered as part of the celebrations. The unique reception drew the attention of hundreds of locals, who gathered to witness the historic sale.
Following the purchase, the Shera print goat continued to attract admirers eager to take photographs with the rare animal. Many congratulated the buyer on acquiring what is being described as one of the most unique goats ever bred in Rajanpur.
The sale has once again highlighted the growing popularity of premium livestock breeding in Pakistan, where exceptionally rare animals often fetch prices running into millions of rupees due to their distinctive genetics, appearance, and breeding value.
Livestock experts say rare breeds with unusual colour patterns or exceptional bloodlines continue to attract collectors and breeders, particularly ahead of livestock exhibitions and breeding seasons.
