Gold prices in Pakistan posted a modest recovery on Monday after a sharp decline over the weekend, as gains in the international bullion market pushed local rates closer to the Rs430,000 per tola mark once again.
According to the latest Sarafa market rates, the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,700 per tola, taking it to Rs428,436. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also rose by Rs1,457, reaching Rs367,314.
The increase followed a positive trend in the international bullion market, where gold gained $17 per ounce to reach $4,060 per ounce, including a $20 premium. The improvement in global prices was quickly reflected in Pakistan’s domestic gold market.
Silver prices also moved higher alongside gold. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs54, bringing the new rate to Rs6,291.
Despite the official benchmark rate, gold continued to trade at different prices across major cities. In Lahore, the retail (piece) market quoted 24-karat gold at Rs430,000 per tola, while Pathoor gold was available at Rs425,000 per tola.
In Karachi, the selling price of 24-karat gold stood at Rs429,000 per tola, while Peshawar recorded the highest market rate at Rs444,000 per tola. Traders said local market prices may vary depending on demand, making charges, and regional trading conditions.
Bullion dealers said gold prices are expected to remain sensitive to movements in international markets, currency exchange rates, and global economic developments. Investors and buyers have been advised to monitor market trends before making major purchasing decisions.
