The Motorway Police has issued special instructions for passengers and transport operators ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure safe travel across the country. The directives were announced under the guidance of Additional Inspector General (IG) NHMP South Zone Munir Ahmed Sheikh and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Motorway Police Syed Fareed Ali.
Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against vehicles found overcharging passengers during Eid travel. Transport operators have been directed not to carry passengers beyond the approved capacity. Any vehicle transporting passengers on bus roofs or exceeding legal limits will face legal action and may be barred from entering the Motorway.
Passengers are advised to report cases of overcharging or overcrowding immediately. They can contact the Motorway Police through the helpline 130 or the South Zone contact number 021-99333336. Officials emphasized that public cooperation is essential to maintain safety on highways and the Motorway during the busy festive season.
The Motorway Police also instructed transport operators to ensure that two drivers are present on long-distance routes. Drivers are urged to remain cautious and responsible throughout the journey to prevent accidents. Authorities highlighted that following all traffic rules and safety measures is vital for smooth and safe Eid travel.
Officials reminded travelers to follow speed limits, avoid reckless driving, and adhere to all traffic regulations while on the Motorway. These measures are part of broader efforts to safeguard lives and ensure smooth traffic flow during the peak travel period.
