CNIC services via e-Sahulat

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is launching a pilot project to offer CNIC services via e-Sahulat. This initiative focuses on CNIC reprints and renewals through selected e-Sahulat franchises.

The project is part of NADRA’s larger strategy to improve access to identity services. It aims to reach citizens in remote and underserved areas, reducing travel to central registration offices.

Under the pilot program, designated e-Sahulat franchises will facilitate CNIC reprint and renewal applications. This step is expected to save time for citizens and simplify the overall process.

e-Sahulat is managed by NADRA Technologies Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of NADRA. The network includes more than 22,000 franchises nationwide, making it one of the largest service delivery systems in Pakistan.

Officials highlighted that CNIC services via e-Sahulat will improve convenience and reduce pressure on NADRA centers. Citizens can now access essential identity services closer to home.

The pilot phase will focus on a limited number of franchises to monitor performance and identify challenges. If successful, the initiative may expand to include additional NADRA services at more locations.

NADRA emphasized that the project supports digital inclusion and efficiency. By leveraging the e-Sahulat network, the authority intends to provide faster and more reliable service to all citizens.

This step also aligns with the government’s objective of making public services more citizen friendly. Expanding access through local franchises is expected to encourage more people to update or renew their CNICs regularly.

Officials are confident that the CNIC services via e-Sahulat initiative will reduce queues at registration centers and enhance the overall experience for citizens. The pilot phase will provide insights into scaling the program nationwide.

Through this initiative, NADRA hopes to create a model for decentralized, community-based delivery of critical identity services. The effort could transform how citizens access government services across Pakistan.

The government has announced a new program providing free CNICs for citizens aged 18 and above across Pakistan.
