Transporters Announce 10% Fare Cut After Diesel Price Drop

Transporters in Pakistan have announced a 10% reduction in fares following a significant decrease in diesel prices, offering potential relief to consumers and businesses facing high transportation costs.

The Pakistan Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association announced the fare reduction after diesel prices were cut by around Rs. 32 per litre.

Association President Haji Sher Ali said the decision was taken to pass the benefit of cheaper fuel directly to the public.

He also pledged continued cooperation with the government in its efforts to control inflation and reduce the financial burden on citizens.

Diesel Price Cut Brings Relief

According to the transport association, the reduction in diesel prices has lowered operating costs for goods transporters.

Following the fuel price decrease, Mazda goods transporters in Lahore decided to reduce their fares by 10%.

Transporters said the move would help reduce costs for customers who rely on goods transportation for the movement of essential commodities and other products.

The association welcomed the government’s decision to reduce petroleum prices, describing it as a positive development for the transport sector.

Haji Sher Ali Announces Support

Haji Sher Ali said transporters would pass the benefit of lower fuel costs on to consumers instead of retaining the savings entirely within the sector.

He said the transport industry was ready to support government measures aimed at reducing inflation and providing relief to the public.

The association president also expressed hope that lower transportation costs would contribute to easing price pressures across different sectors of the economy.

Public Transport Fares Also Reduced

The fare reduction is not limited to goods transportation.

Public transporters have also announced a 10% cut in fares following the decrease in diesel prices.

Transport operators said the decision would provide direct financial relief to commuters and other citizens who depend on public transportation for their daily travel.

The reduction in fares could also help businesses by lowering the cost of moving goods between different markets and cities.

Transport associations reiterated their commitment to cooperating with the government as petroleum prices change.

The latest fare cuts are expected to provide some relief to consumers while supporting broader efforts to control inflation and reduce transportation-related costs.
