The arrest was executed under section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). The incident unfolded at GPO Chowk, located just outside the premises of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on a Thursday, and subsequently, Marwat was transported to an undisclosed location.
The PTI swiftly responded to the news, vehemently condemning the arrest of Sher Afzal Marwat. The party expressed strong disapproval, characterizing the act as “absolutely shameful and disgusting.” The PTI asserted that this incident highlighted a blatant disregard for the judicial system by the caretaker government.

In a statement released on a platform identified as X, the PTI underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that the “abduction of lawyers from the premises of LHC” was reprehensible. The party went on to articulate its concern about the perceived erosion of respect for the courts, asserting that the caretaker government was exceeding bounds and verging on authoritarianism.
