Marwat asserted that authorities attempted to apprehend him on his way to the PTI event in the northwestern region. However, protests by PTI supporters led to his release by law enforcement.
Following his abrupt arrest and subsequent release, Sher Afzal Marwat conveyed a message on social media, emphasizing the need for attendees to display courage at the convention in large numbers.

Despite obstacles, he urged supporters to surpass previous records of attendance in KPK. Marwat asserted that rivals fear the masses’ courage, emphasizing the broader impact of their bravery. He expressed confidence that Imran Khan would soon be liberated.

In a related development, the local administration, citing Section 144 restrictions on gatherings, denied permission for a PTI workers’ convention in Bajaur tribal district. The refusal was based on the party’s delayed request for event permission and the ongoing ban on gatherings of more than five people in the district.
