Punjab Launches 460 Scholarships for 2025–26 Academic Year

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a new program of scholarships for students from Balochistan. The plan covers the academic year 2025–26. It aims to improve access to higher education across provinces.

Under this initiative, 460 scholarships will be awarded to deserving students. These scholarships will focus on low-income families. The goal is to support talented students who lack financial resources.

Applications will be invited through the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund. Officials said the process will remain transparent and merit-based. This will ensure fair selection for all applicants.

The government believes these scholarships will help reduce educational gaps between provinces. Many areas in Balochistan face limited access to quality education. Through this step, more students can continue their studies at higher levels.

Officials added that scholarships like these can create long-term benefits. Students will gain skills and knowledge for better careers. This will also support economic growth in underserved regions.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti welcomed the decision. He thanked the Punjab government for supporting students in his province. He said such scholarships promote unity and cooperation.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said education is a basic right for every citizen. He stressed the need to improve schools in remote areas. His government is working on better infrastructure and facilities.

Earlier, the Higher Education Commission also launched programs for student development. These efforts aim to increase opportunities for young people across Pakistan.
