Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to de-escalation amid the ongoing military tensions with India, stating that Islamabad only responded defensively after exhausting all patience. Dar emphasized that Pakistan’s retaliatory actions were justified and measured, aimed solely at defending the nation’s sovereignty.
Dar revealed that diplomatic contacts are actively underway, with assurances given to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Pakistan will step back if India halts its aggression. He also highlighted calls from both the United States and Saudi Arabia urging restraint on both sides, reiterating that Pakistan does not seek conflict but will not tolerate unprovoked aggression.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif echoed similar sentiments in his interview, confirming that Pakistan disabled Indian defense systems and struck airfields effectively without suffering major losses. He noted that while Pakistan had initially refrained from escalating, it had now responded decisively and is prepared for any further phases if necessary.
Meanwhile, India acknowledged significant damage to its military installations from Pakistani strikes, but its army spokesperson asserted that New Delhi is not seeking to prolong the conflict, offering to stand down if Pakistan does the same. Both sides now appear to be signaling an openness to diplomatic solutions in order to prevent further escalation.
