The MoFA has launched an evening shift for consular services at its headquarters in Islamabad. The new schedule is designed to improve public access and make consular services more convenient for citizens.
The initiative was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He said the extended working hours reflect the government’s commitment to providing faster, more efficient, and citizen-friendly services.
Under the revised schedule, people can now access MoFA consular services from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The additional evening shift aims to reduce waiting times and improve service delivery.
New Operating Hours
According to the ministry’s public notice, the morning shift will continue under the existing schedule.
Token distribution for the morning session will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, morning tokens will be issued from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The newly introduced evening shift provides extra time for applicants who cannot visit during regular office hours.
For the evening session, tokens will be issued from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, evening tokens will be available from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The updated schedule became effective on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Purpose of the Evening Shift
The MoFA said the new shift has been introduced to make consular services more accessible for the public. The ministry expects the extended hours to improve convenience for applicants and reduce pressure during the morning session.
The initiative is also intended to speed up the processing of applications and improve the overall experience for citizens visiting the Consular Services Wing.
People who have work or other commitments during the day can now visit the office during the evening hours.

Officials encouraged citizens to visit the Consular Services Wing during the revised timings according to their convenience. Applicants are also advised to arrive within the announced token issuance hours to avoid delays.

The introduction of the evening shift provides greater flexibility for people seeking passport-related attestations, document verification, and other consular services offered by the ministry.
