LDA Approves Rs. 88.613 Billion Budget for 2026-27

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved its budget for fiscal year 2026-27. The total budget stands at Rs. 88.613 billion.

The LDA governing body approved the budget during a meeting chaired by Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmad. Director General Tahir Farooq briefed members about the meeting agenda.

The authority has set a revenue target of Rs. 47 billion for the new financial year. The approved plan focuses on infrastructure, urban development and several major city projects.

The budget includes Rs. 10 billion as a Punjab government loan. The amount will support structure plan roads. Another Rs. 6.3 billion has been allocated for Annual Development Programme schemes.

The LDA has allocated Rs. 12.5 billion for development work in LDA City. It has also earmarked Rs. 13.5 billion for sustainable development and urban regeneration.

An additional Rs. 4 billion has been allocated for LDA Avenue 1. The governing body also approved Rs. 3.5 billion for the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA).

The meeting also approved amendments to the LDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2019. Officials also discussed new measures for municipal services in selected housing schemes.

A pilot project will introduce maintenance charges in LDA Avenue 1, Jubilee Town and LDA Enclave. The project will cover residential and commercial properties of different sizes.

The LDA will provide maintenance and sanitation services free of charge during the first two months. Charges will apply after the initial free period.

The governing body also approved plans for a proposed LDA Tech Park. The authority will develop and market commercial plots along Ferozepur Road.

The proposed site covers 118 kanals near Arfa Karim Tower. Commercial plots of different sizes will be offered under the development plan.

The LDA also approved Rs. 100 million for child-friendly city initiatives. The authority will work with UNICEF on these initiatives.

The meeting further approved a new Pine Sector in LDA City. The sector will include commercial and residential plots of different sizes.

Solar lights will also be installed in several blocks of LDA City. These measures are part of the authority’s broader development and revenue plans.

The LDA reported record revenue of Rs. 32 billion during the previous financial year. It was the first time the authority’s revenue crossed the Rs. 32 billion mark.

The latest budget reflects the authority’s focus on infrastructure and urban development. It also aims to increase revenue through development and commercial activities.

The approved spending plan is expected to support several projects across Lahore during the 2026-27 financial year. The authority will also continue working on urban regeneration and improved municipal services.
