Pakistan Textile Exports Rise 43.13% to $1.81 Billion

Pakistan’s textile exports recorded strong growth in July 2026. Exports increased 43.13 percent month over month to $1.81 billion.

The figures come from provisional data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The latest performance marked a strong beginning to fiscal year 2026-27.

Textile exports stood at $1.27 billion in June 2026. The July figure was also 8.07 percent higher than July 2025.

Exports were recorded at Rs. 504.34 billion in local currency. The growth was supported by higher shipments across several major product categories.

Knitwear remained the largest textile export category during the month. Its exports increased 46.60 percent month over month to $533.84 million.

Knitwear exports also posted year-over-year growth. They were 4.06 percent higher than the same month last year.

Readymade garments also recorded significant growth in July. Exports increased 45.87 percent month over month to $459.99 million.

The category posted 15 percent growth compared with July 2025. This made readymade garments one of the stronger performers during the month.

Bedwear exports also showed notable improvement. Shipments rose 47.13 percent month over month to $308.50 million.

Bedwear exports were 4.16 percent higher than the previous year. The increase contributed to the overall improvement in textile export earnings.

Towels recorded the strongest monthly growth among major textile categories. Exports jumped 60.35 percent to $106.36 million.

Made-up articles, excluding towels and bedwear, also recorded strong growth. Their exports increased 58.51 percent to $77.21 million.

Cotton cloth exports rose 26.27 percent month over month. Shipments reached $141.59 million during July.

However, cotton cloth exports were slightly lower compared with July 2025. This indicates mixed performance within the cotton-based export segment.

Cotton yarn exports increased 3.91 percent month over month. The category reached $66.53 million during the month.

Cotton yarn also recorded strong annual growth of 18.69 percent. This shows continued demand for some Pakistani textile products.

Meanwhile, textile imports also increased during July. Imports rose 5.37 percent month over month to $682.21 million.

The import bill was higher than the $647.43 million recorded in June. It also increased 14.82 percent compared with July 2025.

Raw cotton imports fell 15.37 percent from June to $186.34 million. However, they remained 30.01 percent higher than July last year.

Imports of synthetic and artificial silk yarn rose 43 percent month over month. The value reached $125.84 million during July.

Worn clothing imports increased 6.30 percent to $62.36 million. Synthetic fiber imports also rose 4.34 percent to $72.42 million.

However, synthetic fiber imports declined 4.02 percent year over year. The latest figures show strong export momentum alongside rising input imports.

Overall, Pakistan’s textile sector started fiscal year 2026-27 on a positive note. Higher exports across major categories supported the monthly increase.
