Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Approves Plan to Establish 72 Model Schools

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced plans to establish 72 Chief Minister Model Schools across the province. The initiative aims to improve the quality of public education and provide students with access to modern learning facilities.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. During the meeting, he directed the education department to start work on a legal framework for the new schools. He said the institutions should serve as examples of quality education and modern teaching practices.

According to officials, the 72 model schools will be built for both boys and girls in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project is expected to begin in the next fiscal year. Authorities estimate the total cost of the initiative at around Rs. 9.5 billion.

The proposed schools will feature trained teachers, updated teaching methods, and modern facilities. The government hopes these improvements will help students receive a better education and prepare them for future opportunities.

Officials also informed the meeting that a separate legal and regulatory structure will be introduced for the schools. This framework will help ensure effective management and smooth operations. A centralized board of governors will be established to oversee administration and decision-making for all model schools.

The briefing highlighted that the curriculum and assessment system will be different from the traditional public school model. The new approach will focus on modern educational standards and the skills needed in today’s changing job market. Officials believe this system will better prepare students for higher education and future careers.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government sees the project as a major step toward strengthening the province’s education sector. By introducing modern schools and updated learning methods, authorities aim to raise educational standards and improve student outcomes.

The meeting was attended by the provincial education minister and senior officials from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department. Participants discussed implementation plans and reviewed key aspects of the proposed project.
