Defense analyst Shoaib was detained at home after Magistrate Owais Khan submitted a first information report (FIR) at the Ramna police station, according to police sources.

The complaint was made in accordance with Sections 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Criminal Code, which, respectively, deal with inciting public disorder and fostering animosity among rival factions.

According to the FIR, Shoaib said things that “incited government officials and opposition from completing their government and legal duties” during an interview with a private local television channel.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Prison Bharo movement, according to the FIR, could not deliver the desired result since only the regular people were suffering through it, while the “shameless rulers sitting at the top did not care about it.”

Shoaib allegedly instructed the PTI to “think out a strategy,” such as forbidding people from entering government buildings in the federal capital, according to Magistrate Khan.

The comments “intended to promote additional hatred, disorder and hatred between the current government and the opposition,” according to the complaint. It went on to say that the remarks were made as part of a “well-thought-out conspiracy and planning to further damage the country.”

The FIR sought legal action against the retired general for his statement.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
