Pakistan’s young chess sensation Rayaan Rehman has achieved another remarkable milestone after earning the prestigious Arena International Master (AIM) title from the International Chess Federation, commonly known as FIDE. At only 10 years old, Rayaan has become one of the youngest players in Pakistan to secure the internationally recognized title.
The latest achievement adds to an already impressive list of accomplishments for the young chess prodigy. Earlier, Rayaan became the youngest Pakistani player to receive the Arena FIDE Master (AFM) title and also the youngest to earn the Arena Candidate Master (ACM) title. His rapid progress has attracted widespread attention from Pakistan’s growing chess community.
Rayaan has proudly represented Pakistan in several major international competitions over the past few years. These events include the Asian Youth International Chess Championship in Kazakhstan, the Asian Schools Chess Championship 2024 in Bangkok, and the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025 in Malaysia. His participation at such a young age highlights his growing reputation in international chess circles.
During these tournaments, Rayaan delivered impressive performances against experienced players from several countries including Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, Mongolia, and Oman. He also recorded strong results against competitors from India, Sri Lanka, and Australia, showing his ability to compete at a high level against older and more experienced opponents.
Apart from his international achievements, Rayaan has also won several important chess tournaments in Pakistan, including national and university-level competitions. He earned praise after becoming Pakistan’s National Under-10 Champion and later secured victories in tournaments organized by institutions such as Lahore University of Management Sciences and Beaconhouse National University.
Beyond chess, Rayaan has shown excellence in academics and co-curricular activities as well. He recently achieved all As and A*s in his Grade 5 examinations and also earned recognition as a regional spelling bee champion. With multiple FIDE titles, international exposure, and consistent performances, many experts believe Rayaan Rehman is emerging as one of Pakistan’s brightest future stars in global chess.
