This year celebrates the twentieth anniversary of Ali Zafar’s musical career, which calls for a walk down memory lane! The singer-actor recorded a lo-fi version of his first album’s most popular song, Chal Dil Mere. Zafar has also added a verse to the song on the most significant lesson he has learned over the years.

Zafar took to social media on Sunday to share his interpretation of the song, which was released 20 years ago. The song’s music video featured the Kill Dill actor’s AI-generated avatar reviewing all of his work on a screen.

“This was the first time I didn’t feel like celebrating my birthday because of the country’s circumstances, so I apologise for not responding.” Too much to say, yet words can never portray the depths of a weeping heart,” he stated, adding that he expressed his “suffering” through a version of a song near to his heart, Chal Dil Mere.

“This year marks 20 years of my musical journey, so I’ve decided to share some precious moments from my professional and personal life in this new rendition of my song Chal Dil Mere, which was released in 2003 on my first album Huqa Pani,” he continued.

The music video featured a montage of films and photographs of him with his family, Bollywood co-stars, excerpts from interviews, sets, and movies, and, of course, his concerts and all of his fans. Zafar surprised fans by including “a verse on smoking up and drinking down” at the end of the song.

The couplet tells young people that drinking and using drugs are the finest ways to spend their time. “Keep in mind that life is fleeting. Don’t squander it on fear and doubt, and don’t be too concerned with what others think of you. Choose love and go with your heart and dreams. Have faith in yourself!” Zafar added in the caption.

The Jhoom singer concluded his statement by quoting Pablo Picasso and writing, “‘The meaning of life is to find your gift.” “The purpose of life is to share it.”
