Hema Malini Breaks Silence on Family Rift Rumours

Veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini has addressed rumours of tensions between her family and Dharmendra’s first family following the actor’s death, dismissing reports of a rift and describing the family as “very united.”

In an interview with E Times, the 77-year-old actress spoke about her life after Dharmendra’s death, her family, her work and whether she plans to return to acting.

Hema said she is currently not considering a return to the screen and is content with the life she is living. She explained that she spends much of her time in her constituency, working for people and remaining close to her children and grandchildren.

The actress also said that memories of Dharmendra continue to hold an important place in her life.

Hema Malini Remembers Dharmendra

Speaking about her late husband, Hema described Dharmendra as a wonderful soulmate who remained supportive throughout their relationship.

She recalled how he encouraged her to continue pursuing her passion for dance and supported her interests throughout their life together.

Hema acknowledged that she continues to miss Dharmendra deeply and is still living with memories of their time together.

She said those memories remain an important part of her life and continue to give her emotional strength following his death.

Actress Rejects Family Rift Reports

Hema Malini also addressed reports suggesting that tensions had developed between her family and Dharmendra’s first family after his death.

The actress rejected the claims and described reports of a family dispute as fabricated. She said Dharmendra’s family remains “very united” and urged people not to believe everything they see circulating online.

Hema also specifically warned fans about content generated through artificial intelligence, saying that people should be cautious about believing material shared on social media.

Rumours about a possible rift had circulated after reports claimed that Hema and her daughters were largely absent from some of the prayer ceremonies and final rites organised by Dharmendra’s first family.

‘We Lived With True Love’

Hema Malini said she and Dharmendra never allowed public criticism to dictate how they lived their lives.

She maintained that the couple focused on their relationship rather than worrying about what others thought or said about them.

According to Hema, their relationship was based on genuine love and a strong belief that they were meant to be together.

She said their bond remained unaffected by criticism and outside judgment throughout their relationship.

Dharmendra’s Family

Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1954, and they had four children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta and Ajeeta.

He later married Hema Malini in 1980. The couple had two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

Dharmendra died on November 24, 2025.

Hema’s latest comments come amid continued public interest in the actor’s family and personal life. By describing the family as united and rejecting reports of a dispute, she has sought to put an end to speculation surrounding relations between the two sides.
