PIA has announced an expansion of its flight operations to the United Kingdom, marking a key development in the airline’s international revival plans.
According to airline sources, PIA is set to resume direct flights to London starting in March next year after successfully securing slots for four weekly flights at a major London airport. The move will allow PIA to re-establish its presence on one of its most important international routes.
Sources revealed that the flight slots were previously allocated to Turkish Airlines during the period when PIA faced restrictions on its UK operations. The arrangement was made to ensure the slots were retained and not permanently lost. Now that preparations are complete, the slots have been reclaimed for PIA’s use.
It was further confirmed that Heathrow Airport has been officially informed in writing about PIA’s plan to restart London flights from March 2026. The airline is currently finalizing operational arrangements, including schedules, aircraft allocation, and regulatory requirements.
The return of PIA to the UK market is expected to provide relief to passengers, particularly the Pakistani community in Britain, by increasing travel options and improving connectivity. Aviation analysts believe the move could also help PIA regain market share and boost revenue from long-haul routes.
