New Karachi Stadium design officially revealed

The Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed an updated design for the renovated National Stadium in Karachi, marking a major step in upgrading the country’s cricket infrastructure under a Rs4 billion development plan.

As part of the project, the PCB has awarded a construction contract to National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) to build a new, modern enclosure at the historic venue. The redevelopment is designed to meet international standards and enhance the overall match-day experience for spectators, players, and broadcasters.

According to the concept visuals shared by the board, the new enclosure will include modern seating with clearer sightlines, exclusive VIP and corporate boxes, improved media facilities, and smoother entry and exit points to make crowd movement easier and safer.

The PCB has also approved a second phase of renovations at National Bank Stadium Karachi, scheduled to begin after the 2026 Pakistan Super League. In addition, plans have been cleared for an Oval-style redevelopment of Lahore’s LCCA Ground, further strengthening domestic cricket venues.

Beyond Karachi and Lahore, the board is pushing ahead with a new international-standard stadium in Islamabad, with land allocated near the D-12 area and a design inspired by leading stadiums in the UAE.
