Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed has spoken out against the controversial reality show Lazawal Ishq, calling it harmful to society and a danger to cultural values. The actor believes that the show promotes vulgarity and hides a questionable agenda behind its production.
During a podcast appearance, Zahid Ahmed expressed his disappointment over the show, which has already generated intense debate online. He said he could not support any project that promotes indecency or challenges Pakistan’s moral and social boundaries.
Questions About the Show’s Production
The actor shared that his objections began as soon as Lazawal Ishq was announced. He tried to identify the production team behind the show but was unable to find any clear information. Zahid added that although actress Ayesha Omar is hosting the program, he chose not to approach her for details, explaining that he does not know her personally and disagrees with the show’s overall message.
Claims of Hidden Agenda
According to Zahid Ahmed, the show’s producers intentionally avoided broadcasting Lazawal Ishq on television to escape PEMRA’s regulations. Instead, they chose YouTube as a platform to release the series. He argued that by featuring Pakistani hosts and contestants, the makers tried to give the show a “Pakistani identity,” even though its content contradicts the country’s moral values.
The actor further claimed that the project follows a hidden agenda aimed at misrepresenting Pakistan’s culture on a global stage.
Public Reaction and PEMRA’s Stance
The first episode of Lazawal Ishq premiered on YouTube on September 29. Soon after, it received heavy criticism for promoting indecent content. While Ayesha Omar defended the show, saying it is not a dating program, many viewers demanded an immediate ban.
