Bangladesh Defeat Pakistan by 7 Wickets in Women’s World Cup Clash

Bangladesh Women defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in their ICC Women’s World Cup match in Colombo.

Pakistan, after winning the toss, opted to bat but were dismissed for 129 runs in 38.3 overs. The team had a shaky start, losing two wickets for just 2 runs in the opening over. Muneeba Ali (17), Rameen Shamim (23), Sidra Nawaz (15), Aliya Riaz (13), and skipper Fatima Sana (22) added brief contributions, while Daniya Baig remained not out on 16.

In reply, Bangladesh comfortably chased the 130-run target in 31.1 overs with seven wickets in hand. Rubiya Haider starred with the bat, scoring a solid 54 runs.

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh qualified for the tournament through the Women’s World Cup qualifiers. The two teams had previously won two matches each in their last four encounters. Pakistan will now face India in their next match on October 5.
