Eidul Adha in Pakistan Expected on June 7 Following Moon Sighting Predictions
Eidul Adha is anticipated to be celebrated nationwide on Saturday, June 7, 2025, as astronomers forecast the sighting of the Zilhaj moon on May 28.
Prominent astronomer Dr. Faheem Hashmi explained that the new moon will be too young to be seen on May 27, being only about 11 hours old at sunset. However, by May 28, the moon will be over 35 hours old, making it more likely to be visible across Pakistan.

According to these calculations, the Islamic month of Zilhaj will begin on May 29, with Eidul Adha falling on its 10th day, June 7.
Eidul Adha is a significant Islamic festival that honors Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to God, commemorating his willingness to sacrifice his son as commanded by God.
The final moon sighting confirmation will be announced by Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which verifies lunar observations from across the country to declare the start of Islamic months officially.
