Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has resolved internal tensions between Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Sources say a key leadership meeting held in Islamabad brought together Gandapur, PTI lawyers, and Imran Khan’s three sisters to align party efforts for securing Khan’s release from Adiala Jail. During the meeting, Aleema Khan clarified that while she and her sisters are not politically involved, they are committed to advocating for their brother’s freedom.

Party leaders addressed internal disagreements and agreed to ramp up their campaign for Khan’s release. PTI lawmakers have been instructed to attend his court proceedings to show support. The meeting also included a legal briefing on Khan’s ongoing cases, including those related to the May 9, 2023 riots.
PTI has announced a protest and symbolic sit-in outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday, demanding reserved seat allocations and the appointment of a new Chief Election Commissioner.
As part of this protest plan, the party intends to march from the Islamabad High Court to the ECP, with mandatory participation from MNAs, MPAs, and ticket holders. PTI is also expected to issue show-cause notices to those who fail to attend.
This reconciliation comes after a reported confrontation in March outside Adiala Jail, where Aleema Khan clashed with PTI lawyers. She insisted that only authorized individuals could meet Imran Khan and restricted legal access to designated lawyers Salman Akram and Salman Safdar for filing petitions.
