The Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has directed the provincial transport minister to ensure that the recent fuel price reduction benefits the public.
The Chief Minister of Punjab has set a 48-hour deadline for relevant officials to lower fares by 10%. The provincial transport minister will communicate the order to transportation providers for its implementation.
According to reports, transportation operators in the provincial capital have already decreased fares for both short and long routes. For instance, the fare from Lahore to Karachi has dropped from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 6,850.

Furthermore, other ministers and departments have also received instructions to reduce prices for various items. The Chief Secretary has been tasked with decreasing the costs of essential daily commodities.
He will collaborate with Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners throughout Punjab to evaluate the measures taken to lower prices. Recently, the government announced a Rs. 40 reduction in petrol prices.
