[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The ongoing strike by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) in Hollywood is starting to have an impact on the release schedules of several highly anticipated projects involving Bollywood actors.

The strike, which started on July 14, has led to production shutdowns and disruptions as SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America protest against studios regarding issues like wages, AI technology, and profit-sharing in the streaming era.

One affected project is the sci-fi film “Project K,” featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone. The film’s director had planned to unveil the first look at the San Diego Comic-Con, but due to Hollywood actors refraining from participating in events during the strike, the launch may be postponed as a sign of solidarity.

Another impacted film is “Heart of Stone,” which marks Alia Bhatt’s Hollywood debut. Promotions for the Netflix film have been put on hold due to the strike. There is also uncertainty surrounding the release of Ali Fazal’s film “Afghan Dreamers,” which may be pushed to early 2024 instead of its original year-end schedule.

The strike has gained support from notable Hollywood figures, and as it continues, the industry faces challenges in managing upcoming releases and mitigating the effects of the strike.
