Popular Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has once again come under criticism after Punjab Assembly member Hina Parvez Butt expressed concern over the growing influence of family vlog content on children. The lawmaker argued that such videos could negatively affect young viewers and called for greater responsibility from social media creators.
The latest debate began after a family prank video uploaded by Rajab Butt gained widespread attention online. In the vlog, Rajab Butt’s mother appeared to faint as part of a staged prank, creating a dramatic moment that was later revealed to be scripted when she stood up laughing. Although the video was intended as entertainment, it quickly went viral and sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms.

Responding to the viral clip, Hina Parvez Butt criticized the family for producing sensational content primarily to attract views and increase online earnings. She said that many children, including those as young as eight years old, regularly watch such videos, raising concerns about the possible impact on their values and moral development.
According to the Punjab Assembly member, influencers should recognize their responsibility toward young audiences and avoid creating content that could encourage inappropriate behavior or send the wrong message. She claimed that content designed mainly for entertainment and online popularity may have unintended effects on children who closely follow social media personalities.
Her remarks generated significant discussion online. While some social media users agreed with her concerns and suggested that parents should monitor what their children watch, others argued that viewers who dislike the content can simply unfollow or block such channels. Some users also called for stricter regulations regarding online content aimed at younger audiences.
This is not the first time Hina Parvez Butt has publicly criticized Rajab Butt. In an earlier post on the social media platform X, she questioned the growing popularity of certain online influencers among Pakistani youth. She warned that children who consider such personalities as role models could be negatively influenced.
In that post, she shared photographs of Rajab Butt alongside Ali Hyderabadi and Sami Rasheed, describing them as unsuitable role models for young people. She also urged parents to remain actively involved in monitoring their children’s online activities and encouraged families to guide youngsters toward more positive and educational digital content.
The latest controversy has once again highlighted the ongoing debate over the influence of social media influencers, family vlogs, and online entertainment on children and teenagers in Pakistan.
