[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Former fast bowler Umar Gul has slammed Mohammad Amir for leaving from international cricket too soon, saying he should accept responsibility for his actions.

Umar Gul believes that instead of ending his international career, Amir should have accepted obstacles, as problems present possibilities for personal growth.

“One should strive to improve even further, driven by the challenge of performing better alongside exceptional coaches and teammates who have higher expectations,” Gul said.

Umar Gul expressed surprise when the left-arm pacer announced his retirement from international cricket, stating that athletes normally face problems rather than deciding to leave.

The former pacer stated that Amir should not blame a certain coach or selection for his dismissal, but rather assess his own performance and faults.

“It is impossible to single out a single coach or factor as the sole cause of being dropped.” It is preferable to hold oneself accountable and accept responsibility,” Gul continued.

It is worth noting that Mohammad Amir announced his retirement in 2020, blaming the then-PCB management’s purposeful carelessness and mental anguish.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Selection Committee indicated interest in Amir’s probable return to international cricket earlier this year.

The cricket board, however, disputed these media allegations, claiming that no official had approached the left-arm pacer about a possible comeback and that the reports were inaccurate.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
